Scenic Train rides and Tea Trails of Sri Lanka with DilraTours.com on Our Honeymoon Tour
As our our request our honeymoon trip organizer suggest that to take train from Kandy to Hatton. And boy! We did enjoy that. We explore the Kandy city, Kandy lake, Sri Dalada Malaigwa are our favorites and also experienced Kandy in rush hour. To get a more authentic Sri Lanka train experience,we bought 2nd class tickets. Train is quiet clean with less crowd so we enjoy the beautiful view of Sri Lanka mountains from train. It took some time to get our hotel so we were exhausted. But the view from hotel lobby just faded away that feeling. From that moment we knew our honeymoon to Sri Lanka is going to be amazing. We took the first day from our honeymoon holidays to rest and to enjoy scenic views, the whether is quiet cool but not so much perfect honeymoon whether to be honest.
In the morning of the day 02 we took a trip to a tea factory with our tour guide DilraTours.com. The tour takes us to the plantations where tea leaves are plucked, proceed, packed, auctioned and then sold. Lot of things are explained by planter John Marshall, his great great grand parent is the father of Ceylon Tea Sir James Taylor. After that great experience we explore through different colonial bungalows that have different and unique characteristic. Castlereagh bungalow, Addison bungalow are our personnel favorites. Now to the foods, Sri lankan foods are tasty and spicy. lot of the are unprocessed and they and that is good for our health. But in the island you can always see bakeries that are producing great baked foods likes Breads, fish buns (no fishes in those) and many more.
Galle fort and Bawa residence – Not to Missed Out on a Honeymoon to Sri Lanka
Galle, the place not to be missed on honeymoon to Sri Lanka, we experienced local made pizza called Birizza. It’ s a combination of briyani and pizza, briyani is good but pizza is not so much. After That Birizza experience we explored the Galle fort which is more than 400 years old, and a UNESCO heritage site, is just spectacular and also a one of the great Sri Lanka honeymoon destinations.
Portuguese, Dutch and British they all rule here in the Galle Fort in colonial eras. Today it’s a little town within the Galle city with everything you can imagine for a couple who came for honeymoon holidays. Sea view and architecture is just beautiful here. You can see the colonial touch still on the well maintained houses. Lunuganga in Galle is not in list of most Sri Lanka honeymoon destinations, anyhow we went to there, which built by Bawa for himself an wonderful architect experience. With love, Bawa created those on floors, ceiling even grass fields.
The garden is beautiful, too more shady with giant trees like timber, teak, jack and frangipani. Frangipani was bawa’s favorite flower so you can see these trees everywhere. We were expecting such honeymoon holidays to spend, and requested DilraTours.com to take us to such places, and they did, and we are thankful to the DilraTours.com for enriching our honeymoon experiences in Sri Lanka.
During last day of Sri Lanka honeymoon tour package organizd by DilraTours.com we did some shopping in Laksala and Odel department store in Colombo. Bought some handcarts and Sri Lanka themed t-shirts as memories, later that day we say good bay to this little diamond, and our tour operator DilraTours.com.
A honeymoon to Sri Lanka is great start to married life.
